What Is Regenerative Medicine?

What Is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative medicine is a term used to describe treatments and therapies which use human stem cells to help activate a healing response in the body. Stem cells are found throughout the body but are found in abundance within human blood plasma. When these stem cells are extracted and reintroduced into another area of the body that is damaged or diseased, it can jump-start a healing response. This healing response is all-natural and has no negative side effects.

How Is This Treatment Done?

A patient who needs regenerative therapy will provide a blood sample. This blood sample will go through a special process that will concentrate the blood plasma where the stem cells are strongest. This plasma can then be re-injected into the patient. The injection point will correlate with the injury or chronic pain the patient is experiencing. For instance, a patient that has experienced a torn knee ligament will have an injection in the knee near the ligament. The prepense of the stem cells with activates a healing response in the ligament. This can ease pain and speed recovery time.

Is it Safe?

This type of treatment is perfectly safe because you are not using any type of medication or foreign substance.
